European Commission increases the pressure on the American company Google's failure to comply with EU free competition law. As reported on Sunday, June 29, by Der Spiegel weekly, European Commissioner for Competition Joaquin Almunia in a special message informed his colleagues in Brussels about the intention to take additional measures. Commissioner, in particular, refers to the many complaints from Google competitors.
Many Internet companies, in particular, complain that Google when displaying search results, for example, during the comparison of hotel and restaurant prices, redirect users to its own services, distorting questions and thus preventing competition. Under pressure from Brussels, Google had previously promised to change the display of search results and make references to competitors more visible than now, dpa agency reported.
